Steve provided teacher education and professional development in agriculture and advised undergraduate and graduate students. He is a former undergraduate teaching coordinator and was an agricultural education teacher at Maryville High School and North Andrew High School.

Steve is a member of the American Association for Agricultural Education, the National Association of Agricultural Educators, and the Association of Career and Technical Education.
