About Us
Welcome to the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education at Kansas State University. We serve as home to students studying agricultural communications and journalism and agricultural education. The department also provides comprehensive communications expertise for K-State Research and Extension and the College of Agriculture.
Our faculty and staff members have professional experience in teaching; conducting research; editing and producing publications; creating graphic design; producing radio and television news and features; supporting technology; and printing and distributing educational materials.
Students take major courses in our department, in the College of Education, the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and in the other departments within the College of Agriculture. The curricula produce well-rounded communicators and educators ready for the job market. We continue to see more job opportunities than we have graduates to fill.
Most of our ACJ graduates have one or two internships during their college experience, while all of our AgEd students complete student teaching experiences.
In the department, students work with professionals in teacher education; print, radio and television news; print and electronic publishing; and printing services.
With the support of our students, our professional staff members are able to provide even more assistance to their clients – the specialists, researchers, teachers, agents and other organization professionals.
So, whether you are a prospective student or one of our clients, check out our website for more information. We invite you to learn more about our full-service department. We are here for you.
